God I don’t understand this man!

This past month has been really interesting. My glasses broke about a week ogo. That was a humbling experience. I couldn't see very well for a day and half. Everything around me seem to be out of focus, both spiritually and the naturally, but God has a way of bringing everything into focus when we can’t see.
Now you’re probably wondering were I’m going with this. Well let me start by saying the day I put my glasses in the shop I realize there was a language barrier between me and the gentleman that repairs glasses. First of all allow me to say this without offending any one. I really have a hard time understanding people who have a foreign dialtic. Which was the case with the Asian gentleman in the shop.
When I took my glasses in for them to be repaired, he told me it would cost me forty-three dollars, Not really happy with the price he quoted me, because my mind was set on paying less than twenty dollars. Why less than twenty dollars you ask, because that was what I was told when this place was recommended to me. Therefore, I had an attitude about the forty-three dollars, but I paid it because I can’t see without my glasses.
Now as I recall the man was speaking jiberish to me. I really didn’t understand what he was saying, so I tried piecing together his broken sentences by repeating everything back to him and replied yes to what I understood him to say, but there is one thing for sure I don’t recall him asking me, and that was what type of metal my frames were. All he told me was that my glasses would be ready by the end of the day.
Well, unfortuatelly there was a problem. He called to tell me that he couldn’t fix my glasses because they are made from titatum mental and that it would cost me sixty-dollars to get them repaired. Natually, I was upset, so I told the gentleman that I would come in and pick up my glasses.
When I arrived there, the gentleman was reluntant to say anything to me, when he showed me my glasses, which was seperated in two pieces,I hit the roof. He tried to explain to me that he could fix them for sixty-dollars, but he was saying it wrong. What he should have said, “I can fix them for an additional seventeen-dollars. We went around and around for about ten to fifteen minutes about the sixty-dollatrs. That’s when I had reached my breaking point and stood in the middle of the man's store and cried out to God "Help me Lord because I don't understand a word this man is saying to me." Then all of a sudden a Hispanic gentleman, Richard Abil spoke up and said, ‘ how much does it cost to fix her glasses I’ll pay for it.” Not realizing that anyone else was in the shop, I turned around and said with amazement “Oh thank you, but you really don’t have to do that.” Richard said, “why not, I serve a good God and he has been good to me. So allow me to bless you by paying the difference.” So Mr. Abil asked the Asian gentleman, “so how much is it really, sixty-dollars or seventeen-dollars. The gentleman said seventeen dollars.
Now I know your finding this somewhat funny, and I did too after thinking about it. However, I realized that God was giving me favor and allowing Richard to practice Kingdom principles.
Favor, you call it. It sounds like to me it was a woman who was having a temper tantrum in the middle of the shop, because she didn’t want to pay an extra seventeen dollars to get her glasses fixed. I suppose you could say that, but when you really look at the big picture, God took my situation and proved that he does have people who live according to the word of God. Who know how the kingdom principles operate and to show that this witnessing tool for the unbelivers. When I really think about it, it wasn’t about my glasses getting fixed or me paying an extra seventeen dollars. It was about God fullfilling his promises through one of his own. He was Blessed to Be a Blessing, and the Asian gentleman needed to see God’s children in action.

"Blessed to Be a Blessing"- This is an ACT of Kingdom Principles.

From time to time I like to show movie trailers or music videos of my favorite artist, but this time I would like to share an act of kindness. This act of kindness is not something new. It was practiced in the early church. The book of Acts talks about how the assembly of born again Christians would come together and give to those in need. The widows, orphans and the poor. They would sale whatever they had and give to those who had a greater need. No one had more than the other. Acts 2:44,45
This church "Valley Kingdom" is a prime example of a practice that needs to be put back into action in all of our churches. Feeding the homeless and giving out rations from the benevolent fund is not good enough. If you have tithe paying members in the congregation, then it is your responsibility to make sure that every member has their needs met. No hand me downs either. Give them the best, because God gives you the best. Set out a basket in front of the sanctuary for people to give every week, better yet take up and offering and let those who are in need take what need from the basket. It is amazing how one dollar can add up when you have a membership of five thousand. It is time for us to step up and not allow the government to be our source, but to give what our heavenly Father has blessed us to give. He made sure your needs are met; now it's time for you to make sure others are met too. For it says in Luke 6:38 Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you. Amplified Bible
This testimony should not be so unusual; it should be the norm among born again believers. God wants to shine through us not around us. He wants to show the children of darkness who he is through the children of light. So let us come together and be a blessing to one another as this assembly was a blessing to this young woman and her family.

Check your Attitude

You know when you just have one of those days when you seem to have a bad attitude about everything that comes your way. Not realizing it, your voice will begin to escalate because someone said something that offended you. At this point, your blood pressure is rising, and you are doing everything in your power to keep your mouth shut, for fear of saying the wrong thing, because you know once you say it, you can’t take it back. You walk away from the situation or conversation to avoid any conflict between you and the other party. Only to find yourself imagining what you should’ve, could’ve or would’ve said. Thinking that your right, because of course, everything you say to yourself is in total agreement with your flesh.
Yeah, I said it, flesh; that nasty, stinkin, prideful, all about me flesh. You know what I’m talking about, the I,I,I and me, me, me, Ooowe, nasty. Now if you are in the word God you will realize it right away, but if your not, that fleshy spirit will linger and cause others to stay clear of you.
I have to constantly catch myself and ask the Holy Spirit to put me in check, whatever the conflict or situation is. Instead of imagining the worse and shooting off my mouth, I am beginning to ask the Holy Spirit, first to forgive me for imagining such ridiculous thoughts and ideas, then how to handle the situation or the person I am having the conflict with. If I don’t, it gives the enemy room to plant seeds of resentment, pride, bitterness and hate, all the things that are not the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Where am I going with this, what I am saying is check your attitude. Find out from the Holy Spirit why you are reacting this way. He will set you straight if you allow him to. He is a great mediator, He will tell you what to say, when to say it and how.
Often times we fail to realize that it is our wrong way of thinking that causes some major issues in our lives, we get a chip on our shoulder because we think were okay, or we think we know what were doing, or our way is right. When in reality it is our Heavenly Father who determines what is okay, what we should or should not be doing and if we are right or not.
Remember we are constantly evolving, changing into his likeness. Walking in his love and presence, this is how we grow into his image.
I must admit checking my attitude is an every day thing. I have to watch what I say and put my thoughts under submission.

“Searching for Enoch”

I was doing some research on Enoch today. Why Enoch you may ask yourself. I thought the same thing when I was in meditation this morning, but there is something to be said about this great man of faith. He’s mentioned once in the Old Testament, and twice in the New Testament. Other than that, very little is said about him. Not many preachers talk about him, if any thing is said, it usually is in passing. Like, “Enoch walked so close to God that he took Enoch with him.” So I asked myself why, why isn’t there enough information about a man who had so much faith that God didn’t allow him to face death. So I went to Hebrews 11:5 and it says; Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God. Amplified

Well the answer to that needs very little explanation. God taking Enoch was enough to let any one know it was his faith, and the fact that he knew God very well. In other words you have to know him to go with him. God was just so blown away by how much faith Enoch had in him that he said “you know what, man you don’t belong here; why don’t you just come with me.” Whew, can you imagine not having to face death. Oh how awesome that would be. Just to be in the presence of our heavenly Father so much that you just transcend into the heavens. Wow, I feel a shout comin on.

I had to step back for a minute and think about the relationship Enoch and God had. They talked about everything, I’m sure they were the best of friends. This may sound weird, but they had a great love affair. One that was deeper than a man or woman together could ever have. It says in Genesis 5:24 the Amplified version that “Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God;” which means it was an everyday experience; it was the norm for Enoch. Now think about how much time we spend confessioning God’s love and saying that we are Christians, but we don’t spend any time in fellowship with him. It says in Matthew 6:33: But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you. Amplified
That means the things that seem important to us are not as important as spending time with God and what he has to say in his word. The Holy Spirit pointed out to me, that this is the type of relationship he would like to have with me, with you, with us. He wants to be so close that nothing can penetrate the relationship we have with him. That’s the kind of relationship he had with Enoch. Nothing came between them, not family, job, or his personal possessions, because it was God who gave it to him in the first place. Enoch did not concern himself with what everyone else was doing. He stayed in constant communication with God.

I was reading an article written by Julia Shipley “Bible Stories- Enoch” on http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Julia_Shipley. Ms. Shipley stated that “Because Enoch and God walked together, Enoch must have learned to walk in step with God and listen for His voice. We too, may walk with Him, if we believe His Word and obey it.” Julia also stated that “one cannot walk very well on one foot. It takes two! These two feet tell us what it means to walk by faith as Enoch did. One is marked BELIEVE and the other one is marked OBEY.”

Think about it, his relationship was greater than the one he had with Abraham and he is considered the father of faith. But Enoch had that God pleasing faith; he believed and obeyed God no matter what, because he knew God, he listened to God and trusted God. Although he could not see him, this faceless man, he believed in him. It was Enoch’s spirit man talking and walking with the Spirit of God; and everyday for them was Eden.

Lord, may I forever be in your presence, this day and always. Amen
